Christian Chabot, CEO & co-founder
Christian Chabot is CEO of Tableau Software. Prior to Tableau, Christian was an Associate Partner at Mobius Venture Capital, a $2.5 billion venture capital fund, where he specialized in enterprise applications. Before Mobius, Christian was CEO and co-founder of BeeLine Systems, a pioneer of next-generation digital route mapping technology. BeeLine was acquired by Vicinity Corporation (NASDAQ: VCNT) in 2000. Christian also brings ten years of analytical software experience from his work at Cornerstone Research and Siemens AG to Tableau. He is the author of "Understanding the Euro: The Clear and Concise Guide to the Trans-European Currency" (McGraw-Hill, 1998) - a business bestseller. He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University, an M.Sc. from the University of Sussex, England, and a B.S. in Engineering with Honors from Stanford University.
Pat Hanrahan, CTO & co-founder
Pat Hanrahan is Tableau Software's CTO. He is also the CANON USA Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Pat's research has included visualization, image synthesis, and graphics systems and architectures. He was also a founding employee of Pixar (NASDAQ: PIXR), where he was the chief architect of the RenderMan™ Interface - a protocol that has revolutionized the modern graphics and entertainment industries. Prior to Pixar, Pat directed the 3D computer graphics group in the Computer Graphics Laboratory at New York Institute of Technology. Pat is the winner of two Academy Awards, the Spirit of America Creativity Award, the SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award and the SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Chris Stolte, VP, Engineering & co-founder
Chris Stolte is Tableau Software's Vice President of Engineering. Prior to co-founding Tableau, Chris spent six years researching the analysis and exploration of large, complex databases at Stanford University. This research resulted in twelve landmark research publications and two large-scale visualization systems. Chris was also CTO and co-founder of BeeLine Systems, a visualization software company that developed a revolutionary map rendering system. BeeLine was purchased by Vicinity Corporation (NASDAQ: VCNT), and its products are currently used to generate over a million maps a day. Before joining Stanford, Chris worked as an engineer for several prominent software companies. Chris is a co-inventor on five software patents related to information visualization. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University.
Kevin Brown, VP, Alliances & Partnerships
Kevin Brown is Tableau Software's Vice President of Alliances and Partnerships. He served as VP, Marketing at Tableau for nearly three years. A 25 year veteran of the software industry, Kevin has held executive leadership positions in several prominent companies and has extensive experience starting new companies. Prior to Tableau, Kevin was VP Sales and Marketing and Managing Director at Visio Corporation (NASDAQ: VSIO) now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Microsoft. Starting as the first international employee at Visio, Kevin helped grow Visio's international revenues from $0 to $80M and established its presence in over 30 markets. Visio became and remains the industry standard for drag and drop business graphics. In addition to his industry experience, Kevin was a Professor of Computer Science at Boston College and has authored four books on Lotus Notes. He holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Boston College.
Tom Walker, CFO
Tom Walker is Tableau Software's Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for finance, operations, administration, human resources, and IT functions at Tableau. Tom brings over 17 years of experience in finance, operations, strategic planning, and acquisitions. Prior to joining Tableau in 2004, he held finance positions at private and public companies including Time Warner and IDG Books (since acquired by John Wiley and Sons). He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Arizona State University, and a master's degree in business administration from Baruch College.
Daniel Jewett, VP, Product Management
Dan Jewett is Tableau Software’s Vice President of Product Management. Dan has more than 20 years of product management and development experience in a variety of technical and marketing positions particularly for business intelligence software companies. Prior to Tableau, Dan was an early employee at Brio Software where he served in numerous senior roles including VP, Business Intelligence and VP, System Architecture. Dan helped build Brio to hundreds of employees and thousands of customers and continued through its IPO and eventual acquisition by Hyperion Solution. At Hyperion, he played a key role in market positioning, strategy decisions, and the overall product strategy. Dan holds a master’s degree in business administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a Bachelor’s degree in business (management information systems) from California State University, Sacramento.
Elissa Fink, VP Marketing
Elissa Fink is Tableau Software’s Vice President of Marketing. With 20+ years helping companies improve their marketing operations through applied data analysis, Elissa has held executive positions in marketing, business strategy, product management, and product development. Prior to Tableau, Elissa was EVP Marketing at IXI Corporation, a firm specializing in marketing information. She has also served in executive positions at Tele Atlas, TopTier Software, and Claritas, Inc. Elissa also spent time selling advertising for the Wall Street Journal. Elissa holds a B.A. from Santa Clara University and an MBA in Marketing and Decision Systems from the University of Southern California.
Jock Mackinlay, Director, Visual Analysis
Jock Mackinlay is Tableau Software's Director of Visual Analysis. Jock has a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, where he pioneered the automatic design of graphical presentations of relational information. He joined Xerox PARC in 1986, where he collaborated with the User Interface Research Group to develop many novel applications of computer graphics for information access, coining the term "Information Visualization." Much of the fruits of this research can be seen in his book, "Readings in Information Visualization: Using Vision to Think" (Morgan Kauffman, written and edited with Stuart K. Card and Ben Shneiderman). Jock is a co-inventor of numerous software patents related to information visualization.

Dr. Charles Geschke, Tableau Board of Directors
Chuck is the founder and Chairman of Adobe Systems (NASDAQ: ADBE). He co-founded Adobe in 1982 with Dr. John Warnock, driving technology innovations that forever transformed how people create, process and engage with information. A respected and inspiring industry leader, Geschke was instrumental in developing some of the software industry’s most pioneering technologies. Geschke is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and serves on the boards of several educational institutions, arts and non-profit organizations. He chairs the board of trustees for the University of San Francisco and is a member of the computer science advisory board of Carnegie-Mellon University. He also serves on the boards of the San Francisco Symphony, the Commonwealth Club of California, the Egan Maritime Foundation, the National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management and the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club. Prior to co-founding Adobe, Geschke formed the Imaging Sciences Laboratory at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center where he directed research activities in the fields of computer science, graphics, image processing and optics. Previously, he was a principal scientist and researcher at Xerox PARC’s Computer Sciences Laboratory. Geschke holds a doctorate in computer science from Carnegie-Mellon University as well as a master’s degree in mathematics and an A.B. in classics, both from Xavier University.
Scott Sandell, Tableau Board of Directors
Scott is a partner with New Enterprise Associates, one of the world's largest venture capital firms. Scott has also served on the board of 3ware (acquired by Applied Micro Circuits Corporation), Amplitude Software (acquired by Critical Path), Neoteris (acquired by Juniper Networks, (NASDAQ: JNPR), NetIQ (NASDAQ: NTIQ) and WebEx (NASDAQ: WEBX). Scott started his career at the Boston Consulting Group and later joined C-ATS Software as the company's first salesman. He founded and ran the European Subsidiary before attending Stanford Business School. During and after business school, Scott was a product manager at Microsoft, where he worked on Windows 95. In addition to an MBA from Stanford, Scott holds an AB in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College.
Forest Baskett, Tableau Board of Directors
Forest is also a partner with New Enterprise Associates. Forest joined NEA in 1999 as a venture partner working on information technology companies. He was previously Senior Vice President of R&D and Chief Technology Officer of Silicon Graphics Inc. He founded and directed the Western Research Laboratory of Digital Equipment Corporation from 1982 to 1986 before joining SGI. Prior to that he was a professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University from 1971 to 1982. He also spent two years at Los Alamos National Laboratory building an operating system for the original Cray-1 computer and a year and a half at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center as a Principal Scientist doing VLSI research. At Stanford, he worked with Andy Bechtolsheim on the SUN workstation project, with Jim Clark on the Geometry Engine project, and with John Hennessy on the MIPS microprocessor project. Dr. Baskett received a BA in Mathematics from Rice University, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Jeremy Jaech, Tableau Board of Advisors
Jeremy Jaech has a long-standing record of translating technology visions into solutions for corporate and mainstream computer users. Jeremy first put his visions into practice at Aldus, where he was the technical leader for the original development of PageMaker for the PC. Following PageMaker's introduction, Jeremy managed Aldus product development as vice president of engineering. While at Aldus, Jeremy recognized early the opportunity to bring powerful graphics capabilities to the mainstream computer user and worked with Visio co-founder, Ted Johnson, to manage the development of PageMaker 3.0 for Windows. Jeremy left Aldus in April 1989 to lay the groundwork for Visio Corporation. With the formation of Visio in 1990, he extended that vision, pioneering business diagrams and 2D technical drawing, both of which would become desktop application categories among corporations worldwide. Jeremy served as CEO of Visio until its sale to Microsoft in 2000. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in computer science, both from the University of Washington.
Nick Halsey, Tableau Board of Advisors
Nick has spent over two decades at technology-focused firms in Silicon Valley, and has extensive experience with enterprise software and business intelligence. Currently he is vice president of marketing at Jaspersoft, the market leading open source business intelligence company. Nick joined JasperSoft from SpikeSource, where he helped launch the company as its vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to SpikeSource, Nick served as CMO and VP of Corporate Development for Alphablox Corporation, a leading provider of business intelligence software until its sale to IBM in July 2004. Nick was also the founding VP of sales and marketing at Brio Software, and has held executive sales and marketing positions at Apple Computer and Blaze Software. In addition to his software company experience, Nick was the managing director and cofounder of Rostrevor Partners, a high technology consulting firm that provides strategic advice and financial services to leading-edge companies. He received his B.A. in Computer Science and Political Science from Stanford University and currently serves on the boards of Biz360 Inc., Pria Diagnostics, and HiBEAM, a non-profit high technology incubator.
Kevin Riegelsberger, Tableau Board of Advisors
Kevin is the President and CEO of CapitalStream. His 25-year track record leading technology organizations to significant growth and profitability has provided him with the skills, experience and vision to lead CapitalStream to success in the burgeoning financial front office automation market. Before joining the company, Kevin founded one of the industry’s leading financial and ERP software application providers, Platinum Software Corp. (now known as Epicor). In his 15 years at Platinum, the company grew from a 7-person startup to a publicly traded company with nearly $300 million in revenue. He held various senior-level executive positions in operations, sales, channel development and technology development, and was responsible for all international operations with approximately $100 million in revenue and 350 employees located in all major international markets. Kevin studied computer science at the University of Dayton and the University of California, Irvine, and has served as board director for both public (Platinum Software) and private companies.
