Do Patients Who Are Open about HIV Status Show Better Recovery?
The survey investigates whether people who are open about their HIV status (the "Open HIV" group) demonstrate better recovery from the virus than people who are secretive about their status. Each survey respondent made four visits to a doctor over time (visit number). At each visit cd4a was measured. High cd4a in the blood stream is correlated with recovery from HIV. This summary shows the trend for each patient over time. A regression model suggests that the Open HIV group improved over time, while the Closed HIV group worsened. But the trend line is not statistically significant at the 95% confidence level. The statistical model can be adjusted by right clicking the view and selecting Edit Trend Lines.
