Institutional Researchers Examine Student Demographics, including GPAs by Major, Ethnicity and Gender
Institutional Research among universities and colleges is a rich and dynamic field of data analysis. In this example, we are looking at students' average GPAs by major, ethnicity and gender. The fact that the pink bars tend to exceed the blue bars indicates that women outperform men on GPA. Overall, Business Majors, Sciences & Math and Social Sciences & Humanities majors tend to beat their colleagues in other majors.
